Chimelong Safari Park 2016 - Tarzan and Jane at Madagascar

I have try to book for this trip in September and November but had delay until December to finally embark on this trip due to the Typhoon Season. December is a good month as the Weather is cooling and will not rain due to the Typhoon Season from May to October. So I book for the Tiger Airway Flight Ticket ($427) and Angel Baby Theme Hotel (676 RMB $139) from 11th December 2016 to 13th December 2016 for our visit to Chimelong Safari Park. The Park is celebrating its 15 Anniversary and free entrance for children which is below 1.5 Meter for November and December. The White Tiger Buffet Restaurant also had 15 Percent Discount for Birthday Person from 1st to 15th December.

11th Dec 2016 Sunday

We arrived at the Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 0400 hrs to check in our luggage, our Tiger Airway Flight TR 2986 take off at 0605 hrs and arrive at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport at 0955 hrs. We have Roast Lemon Chicken Thigh at 0800 hrs on the flight for our Breakfast. We took the Line 3 Train from Airport to Panyu (9 RMB $2) and alight at Hanxi Changlong Station. The Angel Baby Theme Hotel is a Service Apartment located just South of the Chimelong Safari Park, I had book for Madagascar Theme but due to water leakage we are relocated to Doraemon Theme Room 1801 instead. It is a nice setup with Living Room and Bath Room located at below and Bedroom located at the top. I really like the hanging chair near the window and the mirror at the ceiling of the bedroom.

After we had check in at Angel Baby Theme Hotel at 1230 hrs, we decided to explore the area. I am surprised that there are a lot of restaurants and eatery shop below as compare to our previous trip to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom at Zhuhai. We will be able to save a lot of cost by staying at a cheaper hotel and eating at cheaper restaurants. We had Century Egg Porridge and Chicken Chop Rice for Lunch at a Taiwan Eatery Shop near to the end of the Food Street at 1330 hrs. After lunch we cross over to the other side of the Expressway by the Train Underground Pavement to Chimelong International Circus to purchase our Tickets (300 RMB $60) for tomorrow night, the Ticket will cost 80 more RMB for Weekend and Public Holidays.

We explore around Chimelong Hotel after we had purchase our circus ticket, this hotel will cost around 1098 RMB to 5298 RMB ($220 to $1060) per night. There are a few room which have balcony facing the White Tiger and Flamingo Enclosure where you can enjoy the excitement of sleeping with Tiger or Birds. We had manage to save about 75 percent of hotel stay costing by staying at service apartment which is within walking distance of the Safari Park. We proceed to purchase the Safari Park Ticket (250 RMB $50) for tomorrow but realize that the ticket could only be brought on actual day and not in advance. We also realize that the package ticket for Safari Park and Circus will get saving of 85 RMB ($17).

We proceed back to our hotel and brought 4 Drinks (15 RMB $3), and Toothpaste (11 RMB $2) at a convince store below at 1600 hrs and took a short afternoon nap to catch up with the sleep we lost for the early flight. We had dinner at an Italian Restaurant named COMO and order Pizza, Pasta and Sampler Plate for 174 RMB ($35). It is highly recommended to have dinner at this Italian Restaurant as I felt it had a higher standard as compare to the one we ate in Resort World Sentosa. We took a Train to Panyu Square (4 RMB $1) which is only two stations away to visit a newly open Aeon Mall. As there are nothing that interest us at the Mall, we proceed back to our hotel after I finish my Gong Cha (Imperial Tea) (18 RMB $4) at 2100 hrs. There are a few instant Karaoke Booth at the Basement of the Mall which allow couples and friends to past some time at a very cheap price.

12th December 2016 Monday

We woke up at 0700 hrs and proceed for Breakfast at 0800 hrs at a Restaurant nearby the Hotel with the Breakfast Voucher provided by the Hotel. There are Fried Noodle, Porridge, Bun, Hard Boil Egg, Sweet Potato and Soya Bean Milk, we proceed to Safari Park to purchase the ticket at 0930 hrs and start our adventure for the day. We were also offered the purchase of Ticket for Bird Park at 20 RMB ($4) which is an offer hard to be resist. The Bird Park use to be a Crocodile Farm few years ago, it is about one quarter the Safari Park and a 30 minutes Bus Trip away.

The Hippo Show is at 1100 hrs, Elephant Show is at 1230 hrs and the Amazon Show is at 1330 hrs, but the show location is all located at the south side of the park. We should have enter the park from the north side to utilize the time saving advantage base on the design of the park layout, but as the hotel which we stay is located at the south side of the park we did not have a choice but to walk the extra mile up and down the park to cover the maximum area at the shortest time. We had Chicken Chop Rice (68 RMB $14) near the Tiger Exhibit at 1200 hrs.

We proceed to North Entrance after the shows and took the Train Ride for the Open Safari at 1500 hrs and my camera battery went flat on me halfway through the journey, we also visited the Jurassic Trail after the Train Ride at 1530 hrs. We took the Bus at the North Entrance to go to the Bird Park at 1600 hrs, I brought a Drink at the Entrance at 1630 hrs (10 RMB $2) before we proceed for the Bird Show at 1700 hrs. We took a walk around the Bird Park after the show and took the 1800 hrs Bus back as the park closing hour is near.

 We actually planned for a Buffet Dinner with the White Tiger at the White Tiger Buffet Restaurant which cost about 150 RMB ($30) but the time is not enough so we decided to proceed to Circus Theater instead and had Fried Dumpling (48 RMB $10) for Dinner and brought two Drinks at 18 RMB ($4). We enter the Circus Theater at 1900 hrs and there are Magic Show Performance for half hour before the actual performance start at 1930 hrs. The Circus Performance last for one and a half hour and ended at 2100 hrs, we both felt it was indeed better than the one we had watch in Zhuhai as there are a lot of Animals involve in the performance.

13th December 2016 Tuesday

We woke up early at 0530 hrs and proceed below and had Sandwich (8 RMB $2) and Drinks (11 RMB $2) at 7 Eleven as the Hotel Breakfast will not be available until 0730 hrs. To avoid the Working Crowd for the Train, we had to take Train before 0730 hrs to the Airport to ensure we had a seat in the Train. We check out of the Hotel at 0700 hrs and proceed on our journey home, we took the Tiger Airway Flight TR 2987 at 1045 hrs and arrive back in Singapore at 1500 hrs.

Chimelong Ocean Kingdom: Happy Feet

I had actually plan for this trip in December, but due to the unavailable of the Flight Ticket I had to made last minute change to carry out on November. The location is not easily accessible and it call for careful planning to execute the whole journey with perfection. I will explain it in details and hope that it will help those who are planning for the trip later will be able to gain from my experience.

It started with our trip to Taiwan in January, we saw a documentary on board the Flight named Super Jumbo which feature the Biggest Cruise Ship in the World. The Ship had been operating around the Caribbean Island all the while and by chance it had operate in Europe this year. While we are flying to Europe to board our Cruise in May we happen to saw another part of the Super Jumbo documentary which feature the Biggest Aquarium in the World.

There is an Airport in Zhuhai, China which is near to the Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, but the flight had to transit in Shanghai or Beijing which doesn't make much sense to me as it require longer traveling time to go up toward the North of China and come back down South of China again. So I decided to go to Zhuhai, China by Ferry from Hong Kong Airport, there is a long distance bus service available from Jiu Zhou Port in Zhuhai to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom.



2nd Nov 2015 (Monday) : The Journey Begins

In order to fulfill this journey, the timing must be perfect. I had to fly Cathay Pacific Flight CX710 (S$597 per person) at 0805 hrs in Singapore and arrive at Hong Kong at 1155 hrs. The Ferry (260 HKD per person about S$47) to Zhuhai depart at 1405 hrs which give me enough time to get the ferry ticket and had lunch at the airport. To save time, we will had to travel light without any check in baggage, this will allow us to board the ferry 30 minutes before instead of 60 minutes require for passenger with check in baggage.

The ferry will take about 60 minutes, we will be able to reach Jiu Zhou Port at 1505 hrs and take the 1520 hrs Bus (20 RMB about S$5, Taxi will cost about 100 RMB) to Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. The Bus is available every 30 minutes and we can still take the next Bus at 1550 hrs if we miss the 1520 hrs Bus. The Bus take about 45 minutes to reach Chimelong Ocean Kingdom with short stop at Gong Bei which is near to Macau Border.

The Bus will first drop off passenger at Hengqin Bay Hotel before it head to the Bus Terminal at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. Penguin Hotel (S$924 for two night with Breakfast, Buffet Dinner and Ocean Kingdom Ticket), Circus Hotel and Ocean Kingdom is just a short walk from the Bus Terminal. Hengqin Bay Hotel is more luxury and more expensive as compare to Penguin Hotel and Circus Hotel, but Penguin Hotel is a better choice as it allow us to have Breakfast and Buffet Dinner with the Penguins.

We arrive at Penguin Hotel at around 1615 hrs and Check In to Room 8073 of Ocean Wing at 1630 hrs, after collecting the Ocean Kingdom and Buffet Dinner Ticket from the Ticketing Counter at the Polar Wing. We took shower and proceed to the Restaurant at Ocean Wing for our Buffet Dinner with the Penguins. We proceed to Ocean Kingdom for the Glamorous Sky Show (Display of Musical Fountain, Laser, Firework and Jet Pack) at Hengqin Ocean at 2000 hrs and take a slow walk to purchase the Circus Ticket for tomorrow night.



3rd Nov 2015 (Tuesday) : Adventure in Ocean Kingdom and Circus Night

We had Breakfast with the Penguins at 0700 hrs, we took a slow walk around the Hotel after that. The Ocean Kingdom open at 1000 hrs and we are able to access the express lane as we are Hotel Guest. We proceed to Dolphin Cove to see the Dolphins as it is located on the right near to the entrance, the Kaka Adventure Show (3D Show with moving chair and water spray, similar to the 4D Show at Sentosa Island Singapore) start at 1030 hrs at the 5D Castle Theater.

Kaka is the male white tiger, he start an adventure with Kiki the female orange tiger and Kuku the Parrot to help the Penguins fight against the Evil Volcano Octopus to save the world. It is highly recommended to see the Kaka Adventure Show to know the background story of the theme park, but be prepare for heart attack as the special effect are amazing.

The show duration is 30 minutes, we proceed to Manatee Exhibit at Amazing Amazon right after the show as it is just west of Dolphin Cove. There is Parrot Roller Coaster Ride at Amazing Amazon, but we decide to skip it as we are more interested in the Biggest Aquarium in the World. Whale Shark Aquarium at Ocean Beauty is located at the west end of the Ocean Kingdom, it had been awarded with five Guinness World Record.

As we spend quite a lot of time in the Biggest Aquarium in the World, we had to rush our way to Sealion Theater at Mt Walrus. We pass by Polar Horizon and Fun Zone along our way as we head east toward the left side of the entrance. Sealion Show start at 1200 hrs, the duration of the show is 30 minutes and we had a quick bite of Pork Cutlet Rice and Fried Fish Spaghetti (120 RMB about S$27) at Family Fun Food at Fun Zone before we head north  to Dolphin Theater at Dolphin Cove for the Dolphin Show at 1300 hrs.

We proceed to Dolphin Island at Dolphin Cove after the Dolphin Show at 1330 hrs to see the Feeding of Dolphins. We then proceed west to Beluga Theater at Polar Horizon for the Beluga Show at 1400 hrs. We visit the Beluga Exhibit at Polar Horizon just beside the Beluga Theater at 1430 hrs and proceed east again to visit Sea Birds Paradise just beside Sealion Theater at Mt Walrus.

The Ocean Parade start around Hengqin Ocean at the Center at 1500 hrs, we view the whole parade at the same location near to the entrance which we had view the Firework Display the night before. After the Ocean Parade as we do not had to rush for any more show, we proceed leisurely back to Polar Horizon and visit the Penguin Exhibit and Polar Bear Exhibit. We brought some food to feed the Gizzy Bears and Black Bears (20 RMB for Seven Pieces about S$5) at the Polar Bear Exhibit.

We head back to our room at 1630 hrs and had a short rest and shower before we go for Buffet Dinner with the Penguins again at 1800 hrs. We had a slow walk to the Circus at 1930 hrs for the Circus Show after the dinner. We had brought the Third Grade Seat at 280 RMB (about S$63) per person, we are lucky that they are having the International Circus Competition from 1st to 12th November. This is the 2nd Annual Event which is together with the Women Tennis Tournament, and it extend the show by an hour more from the normal one and a half hour.

4th Nov 2015 (Wednesday) : The Way Home.

We had Breakfast with the Penguin at 0800 hrs, we check out of the hotel at 1030 hrs and proceed to the Ticketing Counter at Polar Wing to get the Bus Ticket (20 RMB about S$5, the bus service actually depart from the Hotel just outside the Ticketing Counter) for 1100 hrs. We arrive at Jiu Zhou Port at 1145 hrs and brought the Ferry Ticket (290 RMB about S$65, Tax Rebate of 120 HKD about S$22 upon arrival Hong Kong Airport) back to Hong Kong Airport at 1240 hrs. We brought Mango and Orange Juice (23RMB about S$6) while we wait for the Ferry Boarding 25 minutes before Ferry Departure.

We arrive Hong Kong Airport at 1340 hrs and had Porridge, Rice Roll and Egg Tart (234 HKD about S$43, 6 HKD left from Tax Rebate) for our Lunch. We board Cathay Pacific Flight CX635 at 1515 hrs and arrive back in Singapore at 1910 hrs. We had achieve a lot for the Year 2015 especially for this trip, we had ride on the Fastest Elevator in the World at Taipei 101 Building, sail on the Biggest Cruise Ship in the World on Allure of the Sea by Royal Caribbean, visit the Biggest Aquarium in the World at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom. We had walk 24944 steps, 18.4 kilometers and burn 3974 calories in just one day on 3rd November 2015.
